WEEK 31 - The Mormon Wolf Of Wall Street

Image
That’s the best way I could possibly describe my new mission president, President Garn. He is such a business guy it’s crazy. Like, I am living Succession right now. We were in a meeting with President Garn this last week and he brought in a guy who is the son-in-law of the apostle Elder Rasband and then took pictures of us and told us that he was going to send them to his father-in-law and that Elder Rasband knows all that we’re doing and trying to do with media in the mission. LIKE WHAT!?? Then President Garn proceeded to call in like 5 people to the meeting we were having and name drop Gladys Knight, Rudy Ruettiger, and the entire cast and crew of The Chosen. I think there are a lot of divine reasons why I am meant to serve with President Garn, especially in regards to what I want to do with my life after the mission. In the full-time media team, everyone is on top of their game. The productivity is through the roof and it honestly feels like we are starting a startup company and st...

WEEK 30 - Media Moment

Image
Okay I have five minutes to write this to essentially say that I have left Sealy and am now back in Sugar Land and in an area called Memorial living with four other elders who are on Special Assignment because the Texas Houston South Mission is going to become the best media mission in the world. I am in charge of all content creation in the entire mission, a full-time media missionary. From 10-5 every single day I work on media and from 5-9 I proselyte. No other mission has this. We have a minivan too. We are going to change the game, but there is so much to do and so little time, hence this email. Also they moved P-Day to today for this week. I was meant to be here and I was meant to be on this mission right now. Not before. Not after. Now. God knows everyone, God knows.  If you want to see all the pictures ever, go here.  HOUSTON, WE HAVE A PROBLEM: https://photos.app.goo.gl/ 6VcLH45f4rX9Q26j7      If you want to see just this week's pictures go here.  W...

WEEK 29 - After The Storm

Image
So, I guess I spoke too soon because right after I sent my last email our Mission President, through the AP’s who actually had service on their phones, told us that we weren’t allowed to leave our apartments and had to stay inside not only for the rest of P-Day but for the entire night. The next day, we were instructed that we could go out but only if we did service so we ended up doing service from 10am to 9pm all day last Tuesday. Then, the next day, our Zone Conference had been moved to merge with like six other zones in the mission which is technically against the rules because you can only have that many zones together if an apostle comes, but we had a general authority come and speak to us (Elder Evan A. Schmutz) and after 17 departing missionary testimonies we finally got permission to proselytize. So, from Monday to Wednesday of last week, we didn’t do any teaching and could barely do any contact with our friends because the service was so spotty.  Sealy wasn’t hit super ba...
