WEEK 36 and 37 - Tôi Là Người Việt Nam
A lot has happened these past two weeks, so let’s get into it. Richard was baptized. BOOM. Seal Team 6 was expanded. BANG. We now have our own district with us and the Assistants. POW. I love Việt nam. WOW. We have two Vietnamese baptisms happening this weekend. REVOLUTIONARY. Keith got baptized. HOLY. I was sick. OH NO. But now I’m better. WOOO.
Essentially these past two weeks have been a blur. I cannot even begin to recollect what happened but I know things happened. I went to Galveston which was like a dream come true–it reminded me so much of back home it was crazy–and I am going to do anything to get back. I now have a MacBook Pro that I am currently using to type this email out which is crazy. I am literally celestial kingdom living right now. I feel like I was meant to serve in the Vietnamese branch because so much of what I learned in Sealy directly applies to the strategies of missionary work and member-relations in the Vietnamese branch and already we’ve seen so many miracles from our hard work. As we continually sacrifice the majority of our days to media work, God leads us to people in the small amount of proselyting time that we have. I have been able to learn Vietnamese at a faster rate than I could ever imagine and still am able to utilize my Spanish every single day. Yesterday we stumbled upon the opening of a new Vietnamese restaurant and ended up seeing so many of our English and citizenship class students as they gave us free food. Vietnamese work is so difficult but moments like that make it all worth it. Plus, we ended up stumbling into a cultural event and making ourselves known, potentially planting some seeds so that people know the white guys who speak Vietnamese and dress weird (minus Elder Phan). Anyways, that’s about it for this week. We are just grinding out media work and launching some programs in two different zones for this transfer to see if we can truly maximize the amount of work we can do with FaceBook and with members. I’m the happiest I have ever been.
Have an amazing week and talk to you all next week. For now I will be playing pickleball, thrifting, sleeping, and then grinding until I die. Bye.
