WEEK 51 - The Craziest Week Of My Life

To most, it may seem as if every single week brings a new benchmark of crazy into my life, but this past week was genuinely the craziest. I got hit by a car and now have to appear in court against a cop, Seal Team 6 became a theatre production company, Rudy came, the Christmas Campaign has started, I filmed four music videos, one of which involves half of the mission, and to top it all off it was my 21st birthday. So, thank you for the birthday wishes and thank you for the prayers during this onslaught from the Adversary.

I’ve been studying about the will of God a lot. President Eyring (probably my favorite speaker/General Authority ever) gave a CES devotional in 2006 about the Gifts of the Spirit for Hard Times and addresses how when we are in tune with the Spirit, we are in tune with God’s will and should not ask for His will to change, but to ask for the ability to follow His guidance wherever we may go. So then, God gave me the opportunity to do that this week so that was fun, thanks God.

The Rudy event happened! Rudy came frfr. He spoke and then left and met some people and it was pretty spiritual thanks to some musical numbers and one of the area authorities who was also there. I am just so exhausted I haven’t even been able to process everything. He talked a lot about endurance and diligence and about how important it is to chase your dreams and to grind for them. I was taking pictures the entire time and was not immune to Rudy’s sarcastic comments, including one about my hair and not knowing what a comb was.

During Zone Conference, we put on a play about the founding fathers of the THSM drafting the Declaration of Consecration surrounding phone use and then had every single missionary sign and covenant with God that they would use their phones as He would intend them to. We brought a little bit of New York to Houston when we all accepted our Tony Awards because of our Broadway Production. I wrote it in like a day and then we memorized it in less than that; it was amazing.

I’ve been cranking music videos out, out the wazoo, and diligently posting for the Christmas Campaign on Facebook and it just feels like a culmination of everything I’ve worked towards on the mission. Elder Phan says that we are climaxing media work in this mission which, if true, is a sad fact. I’m just glad to have been a pivotal part of it and am excited to continue to keep media in the forefront of missionary work entering the new year. And then, before you know it, I’ll be swooped up by the Church and making the Christ Child 2.

Now to the part of the email you’re all interested in: Elder Johnson got hit by a cop. Yeah, I did. I’m going to court in February. Fin.
