WEEKS 60-68 - I Didn’t Go Home
Well, well, well. Look what we have here. He’s back. Basically, I have been indisposed for the past 8 weeks and have been working my butt off for the Lord. I have seen so many miracles over the past 8 weeks, so many souls coming unto Jesus Christ, and so much change. My mission is here to prepare me for the rest of my life, which involves leading teams of content creators to create a vision that will change people’s lives (this vision just happens to be our missionary purpose), and it is directly setting me up for the future. I know that God has prepared me to be here, at this time to utilize the talents and gifts He has given me through art and film, as well as my love for society and culture to change the culture of this mission and to show the world how the Lord is hastening His work. Here’s some notes from the past 8 weeks including a blurb from this past week, Week 68.
-We had to leave H8 and it was literally like I was going home. All the members were crying, I was crying, but I got moved back to my first area, H4 with Elder McArthur and I’m ready to apply all of the member and media missionary work that I’ve learned to change this ward for the better, too.
-Our recent converts are the most amazing people ever. Juan Francisco, Victoria, Maria, Alejandra, Melissa, Josiah, and Isabel are my favorite humans on planet earth.
-We hit all time highs for media with 39 out of 83 baptisms being from media sources, which is 47% of all baptisms. We are teaching at the highest rate we have ever, we are helping them come to church, and we are helping them come unto Christ.
-Elder McArthur and I are cousins. I love him. Mainly because I can call him cousin like they do in The Bear.
-We filmed videos for Elder Rasband, an apostle of the Lord–so that was cool.
-I met the founder of Angel Studios, Neal Harmon.
-I love missionary work.
This past week:
We are seeing so many miracles as we continue to put our faith in the Lord. At first we used to accredit our success to only being in our areas for 4 hours. We thought that God was magnifying the time that we had, which He was, but I had an epiphany that it isn't because of the amount of time that we have but more the type of activities that we do during that time. Instead of going out and knocking doors, we visit members and media referrals. We find "by the way" as PMG describes, allowing the finding that we do do to be Spirit lead and knowing that God is going to put people in our path as we continue to stop by our referrals and our members. Right now we have one media referral on date, Elver , because he clicked on an ad about baptism and we were able to connect that need directly to General Conference, inviting him to come and watch with us at a member's house (even though the only members I really know are the ones I connected with a year ago). He is feasting upon the word, desiring to come to every single church event. Within this past week, he went to our volleyball night, English class, and both sessions of Stake Conference--without us really even needing to remind him or continually invite him. God is leading us to prepared people, as we continue to unite with members and trust in media. We also have a friend Jose who was a media referral too, submitting a referral to learn about English, but we were able to connect that need to the Gospel and faith in Jesus Christ right from the beginning and he called us just yesterday saying that he was at night sacrament, going there on his own accord, and we were able to talk about the truthfulness of the Gospel and the power that comes from learning through the Book of Mormon as well as its divine mission through the Restoration of all things. A woman named Patricia, also a referral, had an experience where she went to the temple in Honduras and now she's realizing that the church has been calling for her.
I love you all, I hope you enjoy this return to form and hopefully the stress of a weekly email has been abolished because I finally sent this one out. Time to recreate those habits and embrace the future with faith.
