WEEK 49 And 50 - To Every Thing There Is A Season
That is the first line of one of my favorite chapters in all of holy writ. It continues with, "and a time to every purpose under the heaven.” To every thing there is a season, a time to which things must occur; we must live and we must eventually die, we must weep and we must laugh, we must love and we must hate, and there is a time for all of these, divinely orchestrated by our own actions and the will of God. These past two weeks have led me to, what would appear to be, the last stanza of this poetic sequence found in the Old Testament, “What profit hath he that worketh in that wherein he laboureth?” I have worked, I have labored during these past six months, and we are beginning to see the delectable fruits springing up around us. Media was by far the most effective finding source that led to baptisms over the past two months and leading towards this Christmas season (and my Christmas Campaign), I am overjoyed with how divinely inspired and prepared we have been. It appears that every move we made, since the origin of the team, has been divinely calculated because we are in a spot that no other mission is in the entire world. We are the top media mission in the entire North American continent and Salt Lake has its eyes on us at all times now. The past six months have been the most thrilling months of my life. We’ve innovated, we’ve taken risks, and now it is all starting to pay off. That isn’t to say we’ve made it in any way, but we are operating at a higher caliber than any of us thought possible. Which leads me to the past two weeks…
I couldn’t even tell you what happened. Like, I literally couldn’t because I have had no time to write about it, personally. So here’s what I do remember.
-We had Thanksgiving at the Richmond Stake President’s house and we accidentally brought sweet potato pie instead of pumpkin
-We moved out of Elder Moss and Elder Hammond’s apartment after our car got towed and the black mold got cleaned out
-I went to Waffle House
-We filmed a banger training video about how to use Facebook effectively
-I am a music producer now
-I hate music videos (there will be 7 in the Christmas Campaign)
-I love Christmas (we went to the Christmas tree lighting at Sugar Land City Hall and it was so festive; I loved it)
-Anh Nam is one of the reasons I am in the Vietnamese branch (he tells me all the new movies out and whether or not I should watch them)
-I got sexually assaulted by a crazy Vietnamese woman who wanted a kiss because it was her birthday
-Went to the Giving Machine (they’re real)
-We watched Rudy as a mission
-I rented two cellos from a Mr. Gold who had been praying we would show up, and then we did. He then proceeded to tell us all of his entire history and more.
-We ding dong ditched our active Vietnamese branch members with thank you notes
-The Dairy Ashford District baptized three people this past weekend, Liliana, Julio, and Elian
-We had three people come to church (big win), cô Mai, cô Quy, and chị Ly (two of those three will be on date soon)
That doesn’t feel like a lot, but a lot of the minutiae has been lost to the sands of time and will continue to be until I am out of this month and can finally breathe again (this Christmas Campaign will be the death of me). Wish me luck!
